Background to PEDW data tables

The annual PEDW data tables are now available for download for financial years 1999/00 - 2015/16.

 

 

PEDW data tables are available from 1999/00 and are published annually at the end of September. Prior to April 2007, a set of cleansing rules were applied to day case activity, following this, the definition of PEDW changed and the cleansing was removed. This definitional change was applied retrospectively, and so to demonstrate the effect of this change, the 2006/07 publication included a set of "new definition" figures (uncleansed) for 2005/06 and 2006/07 as well as "old definition" (cleansed) figures for 2006/07. From 2007/08 releases contain only "new definition" figures. 

 

Median and mean waiting times data are included from the 2006/07 publication.

It should be noted that clinical coding can take place some time after the episode of care and not all PEDW records contained will have contained clinical coding at the time these analyses were undertaken.
